The IC Dev team is working on a new island. Alameda has more than 50 towns and an extensive road system as well as 4 separate bases for which units or whole divisions can be based. Development Team members Ignacio and Mickd have put a lot of effort in here and it shows.

Ignacio has been hard at work on a brand new Island called Alameda.

As IC-ArmA specialises in large scale PvP battles (averaging 100 players weekly), we need a special custom kind of island which promotes parity for both sides without compromising the interest for our players. In addition to this, we need lots of places on which we can focus our battles. As such IC Alameda is designed with this in mind. Here are some statistic

Features:
Size:
Total terrain coverage is in the region of all of North Sahrani and one quarter of South Sahrani.Terrain:
Geomorphology based on terrain left by retreating ice sheets at the end of the last ice age. There are no large mountains as we feel it removes a large amount of playing surface but there are many, many drumlin sized hills and hummocks throughout the island.Landscape:
The interior of the island is ‘green’. We have avoided large forest and focused more on farmland type environments. There are some small forests though. The coastal regions are beach based, rather than large desert.Urban Areas:
around 50, ranging from villages, towns and small cities.Ports:
4-5 small ones around the coastal areas and airfieldsAirfields:
4, one at each corner of the island.Permeability:
We have tried to develop a road network which is highly permeable. This is so as to not ‘bottle up’ one army or other which has been a problem on the 6 Campaigns we have played on Sahrani. This means that, yes the easiest road is a nice wide tarmacked surface, but there are back roads which you can take to avoid those pesky spec ops troops.
